The History of Soccer

Soccer is one of the most basic sports to be created. Also known as "football", it origins back to over 3000 years. Many people agree that China was the first people to make up the sport. They use to always kick a ball in a net. Soldiers from the Chinese military also use to play the sport on their free time, kicking the ball in a small net. Today, the sport of soccer is played with a lot of "passion and enthusiasm". It is basically a sport to have fun with. However, Soccer was a sport that was played very fiercely during the Medieval Times. There were towns playing against other towns that involved punching, biting, kicking and cutting into the flesh of players during the course of the game. This was very brutal to the players of the game. Because of this, there were many injuries while playing the game. These games would last the whole day. This has also been a reason why many authorities tried to ban the game. Queen Elizabeth I of England had reportedly passed a law by which the soccer players could be put in prison for a week for the foul behavior they do while playing the game. Soccer steadily grew in fame and today it is a sport played across all continents. The world’s largest spectator sport drew a television audience of 28.8 billion viewers. Soccer has come a long way since the creation of it. As of now, believe it or not, it became the greatest sport in the world.
