The history of basketball finds its way back to 1891. The person who introduced the sport was a Canadian man by the name of James Naismith. people started playing the game with a total of 18 people being on the court at once. It took Naismith about 14 days to create a successful sport for everybody. he has made about 14 rules for the game. One of the first rules of the game was the rule of not dribbling the ball while you have it in your possession. Also, he had explained that contact such as holding, tripping, pushing, shouldering, and striking in any way was a foul. That would also be a goal(score) for the opposite team if this happens 2 more times during the game. Also, the player would be disqualified from the game. The rules of this game has changed dramatically since the creation of it in 1891. For example, the present rules of the game has changed one way by each player having the most of 6 fouls to use. If these players exceeds this limit, the player would not be able to play he ret of the game. Also, instead of there being 18 players on the basketball court, it has changed to 5 players, in which each player has a specific position to play by.(Ex: Point Guard, shooting guard, center, etc.).
Basketball has been introduced in America by a man named Walter Brown in the summer of 1946. This sport has had a lot of landmark events that have increased the popularity of the game dramatically. People in the U.S love this aport as if it is their second religion. Basketball is known as a sport that gives a healthy balance to the physical, and mental part of the body. This is truly a game that keeps you on your toes, and may be or is one of the most popular sports that has ever been created.
