The Most Brutal Sports (In Ancient Times)

Sports have been around the world for many years (as you all may know that already). In the Ancient Times, the sports that were being played were more brutal than they are in the present times. Many sports from the ancient times are still being played 'til this day, but are just played differently. For example, Boxing has been around in the ancient times also. Although that is true, it was played very differently. For starters, they did not use gloves back in those days. They used another material but it was basically da same as having nothing at all. Boxing back in the olden days is like a UFC in the present time. Also, people have gotten beaten up way more brutal than how they do now.
Another example of a brutal sport in the olden days was a sport called Fisherman Joust. If you ask me, I would have never guessed a fish sport being a brutal sport as it was in the Ancient times. Fishermen’s Jousting was a sport in which teams of fishermen in boats would try to knock their opponents into the water. This may sound like an easy non brutal sport, but the results could be fatal. Some reasons include that many of the fishermen were often unable to swim, which means they wsould drown. Also, from them playing in animal-infested seas, the players would get eaten alive by crocodiles, alligators, etc. The players would also brutally attack their opponents with their boat poles in an attempt to disable the other fishermen and win the contest. Talk about tough love. Who said going fishing would be fun all the time?
